Chompin at the bit to hook the boat up and get rolling! www.drydock516.com
Members Frost1920 Posted April 6, 2010 Members Posted April 6, 2010 Thanks Dave! I been so friggin busy lately, I haven't been able to hook up and get away. But this weekend looks promising! Hopefully I can find a place to park and some water to fish! I bet it will be busy busy this weekend. Talk to you later Jon
Gilly Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 [i bet it will be busy busy this weekend.] You guys are obviously more familiar with the lake than I am. When are good times to stay away from the lake? What kind of pressure do you see on the lake? The few times we visited last summer we only saw a couple of jet skis, quite a few ski boats, sailboats, pontoons, some house boats, obviously bass boats, but the one time it was Labor Day weekend. During the week when we've been there it's pretty tame. Right about this time of year I could see it being heavy pressure for fishing especially after this crappy winter. "BusyBusy" sounds like a zoo to me. Is it that bad? www.drydock516.com

Got there at about 6:30 , the lake was crowded in the creeks like sons. But where I was fishing there was not much traffic. I dont think its quite as bad as everyone is letting on. But with the crappie spawn around the corner its sure to get more busy. Theres enough fish around though!
Members Frost1920 Posted April 7, 2010 Members Posted April 7, 2010 yeah, its a big lake. Even on the worst days when you have to park along the road or in the overflow parking, there is always somewhere to go and fish. I have though picked out certain spots, and put in on that side of the lake JUST to hit those spots, and when I got there, there were boats on or right next to every one. Its called "adjusting fire". You never know what a day of fishing will bring. You set out with a game plan, but the fish, and other fishermen may have you adjusting your fire. On the spot adjustments and decisions. Thats what keeps it interesting out there!
