Kyle Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Found a guy on craigslist selling a TFO Lefty Kretch Finness series 3wt with a teton tioga reel with fly line and the original rod tube for $225. He says he only used it about 10 times. If this is the case, you think this is a good deal? Just wanted the input from some guys that know more than me. thanks kyle
Chris Barclay Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 I'd say that's a good deal! I really like that rod and the Tioga is an outstanding reel. Jump on it if you can. Chris St. Louis, MOcbarclayflyrods.combreambum.blogspot.com

I have no personal experience with this equipment but the prices seem fair. I would do a search and check them out to see if they offer what you are looking for in a rod and reel. Here's a link for the rod. Temple Fork Outfitters Sorry, I couldn't find that reel at Teton. Their site wasn't too friendly to me. There are links out there for those reels at Google. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Members AZ_Trout Posted April 8, 2010 Members Posted April 8, 2010 I like my TFO 3wt Professional --The Finness is a step up. Great small stream and small fish rod. Thighlines & Singing Reels
Terry Beeson Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 It's a pretty good deal especially if there is a fly line included on the reel. The TFO Finesse series is designed for just what it says... Finesse fishing. Great for dries, terrestrials, and soft hackle fishing. Good nymphing rod. Not a great streamer rod, but then again it's a 3 wt... Cast the rod before you buy... But so far it sounds good. Kyle Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 Well I bought it. Casted it a few times and liked the way it felt. May be a little better with 4wt line instead of 3, but that will have to wait. I think the short rod will be good for the smaller streams and make the fight that much more challenging and fun. Kyle
