flytyer57 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 I took a drive out to Harrison today and drove over Crooked Creek @ Pyatt. The water levels looked like they were down quite a bit. Seen a couple cars parked down there but didn't see anyone fishing. I stopped @ the park in Yellville. The water there looked like it was just about wadeable. The gage @ Kelly's Slab says it's flowing @ 629 cfs. A bit fast, but by tomorrow... I'll be fishin' Crooked Creek tomorrow. Then Sunday I go to Little Rock. No more fishin' for a while. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
flytyer57 Posted April 10, 2010 Author Posted April 10, 2010 Well, I fished the lower access today. Just about got skunked. I hooked one nice smallmouth and landed two rock bass. The water here was higher than I hoped for and it was flowing pretty good. Reminder to self, next time the gauge says somewhere around 600 cfs, take the spinning rod and don't expect to wade too far. There's no rain in the forcast for next week, so the water levels should drop quite considerably. Only problem is, I'll be in Little Rock. If it should continue with the nice weather, maybe I can hit it again the following week. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
