We had to put our 10 year old German Shepard to sleep last week. The best camping/lake/home security/lick your kids face/snowball chasing dog ever. She was diagnosed with cancer in her mouth back in December, and the doc gave her 3 months to live. In March she wasnt doing too bad so we took her on our first spring trip down to Roaring River. You would have never known she was sick, it was like she was a couple years younger down there. It did all our hearts good, especially hers Im sure. After the trip it was kind of down hill from there. We had one more snowstorm for her to play in (she liked snow almost as much as camping). Her legs were getting weaker and weaker. Last week her mouth sarted bleeding again and her legs were real bad. We called the vet and she agreed that it was probably time. Pooch was too good of a dog to let suffer. Im gonna miss that dog, and so will the rest of the family. Thanks for reading.

Im not a Cardinals fan, but I am a Cardinal. If you know me you know what that means.

Sorry to hear about your old girl. As hard as it is to see them go, you have to think back of all the joy and smiles they gave us while we were lucky enough to have had them in our lives.

My heart goes out to you and your family.

Bummer, redbird. Our lab is going on 12yo. He's having trouble too. This will be our last dog.

I know the feeling....Remember all the joy she brought to your family. She sounds like she was really special.

darn sorry to hear about the family dog. Post a picture of her if you are able.

Our shepherd is almost 12 and had a stroke last month. Her left eye is usually rolled up in her head, she walks crooked and veers left, and on occasion she will just lose her balance and fall over. We know the time is coming soon, but as long as the vet says she is still in decent health and not suffering, we wont put her down.

You are so stupid you threw a rock at the ground and missed.

I know what your going through. We lost our "Rosie" almost 2 years ago. She absolutely loved riding in the truck. She was 12 also. Thankfully she didn't suffer. She will always be my favorite dog. BTW, she was a dumped dog, but became one of the family.

Sorry for your loss.

If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
