timsfly Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Fished lake Leatherwood today, Leatherwood is a lake 2 miles west of Eureka Springs Arkansas. caught some nice crappie, a bunch of 12-14" bass, a few nice bluegill and lots of small gills, it was a good day to be on the water, I'm really getting my moneys worth out of this new kayak. all the crappie I caught today were males, didn't clean a single female, so I guess it will be even better in a few days, didn't spot any beds, and the water is very clear right now in the lake. Caught em all on my 6' 5wt fiberglass fly rod, it was a hoot, almost everything today on a small 1/80th ounce jig, fished back in short slow strips, chartruse was the color for me today. Caught a few bass on brown and white clousers. Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
Members Doug M Posted July 11, 2011 Members Posted July 11, 2011 I fished there last night with my AuqaStar fishing light and saw the least amount of minnows/fish of anywheres I have been all summer. I think the flooding ran them over the spillway or something. i did catch a nice catfish on a noodle with a dead minnow. that place kicks butt because its ripe with wildlife and its secluded. the 6 dollar admission price was worth it.
