Guest csfishinfool Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Fished the river on sunday. The day started off good with a solid three pounder on the blade. After several short fish I switched to a net bait paca craw. I was pitching it around docks and hooked something huge. Probably a monster flat head, or a ten pounder :/ Then we got away from the dominate bite for about 4 hrs. We threw a blade around everything with very minimal success. At about 2:00 I picked the jig up to give it an honest shake. Instantly started catching fish again, they were super shallow. Caught another keeper, and one real mule. was over six easy I wish I would have thrown it all day. The water was heavy stained on the main river, and probably 3 foot visibility in some of the creeks 61-63 degree water. Then the real trip began.....I was fishing a small pocket probably 35 miles from truman darn, and i notice something hanging in the water from the dock, this guy had three monster spoon bill hanging with ropes tied to them., guts all over his bank... And from one of the cross beams of his dock he had a decomposing deer head hanging. This guy ment business. kinda freaky. Lots of snaggin going on. I couldn't help but ask two guys what they were catching em on LOL I laughed at my self... they just thought i was an idiot.
Jbrant Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Good to see you catching some fish in that area of the lake. My family has a cabin at the 51 MM on the Osage - right at Coffman Marina. We were down last Saturday and struggled big time. We went on down the lake towards Bollinger Creek and fished in that area all day. Did you spend most of your time around the 60's MM?

Members FishinJack Posted April 23, 2010 Members Posted April 23, 2010 Looks to me like at least a seven pounder.

Members LakeOz Posted June 30, 2010 Members Posted June 30, 2010 I went out trolling for White Bass in about 8' of water on some gravel flats Monday morning. Using a white wiggle wart hooked a 26lb flathead. LOL, I would have preferred a couple of nice wipers.
