flytyer57 Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Just wondering if anyone ever fishes the Eleven Point down in Arkansas. If so, where is a decent access? What could one expect for a day of fishing? What species? There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Brian Sloss Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 There is mostly private land down there, but pretty good smallmouth, goggle eye and walleye in Arkansas. I've used the Dalton access before which is good enough. Long boat ramp though. Here is a link of a map with access points. http://www.arkansas.com/outdoors/canoeing-rafting-kayaking/waterways/map_detail.aspx?m=elevenpoint&w=Eleven+Point+River www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497

Maybe someday if it quits raining I can get over there to check it out. Does it get as much pressure as Crooked Creek? There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Brian Sloss Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 I doubt it. This time of year there is better smallmouth fishing on the upper part of the river in Missouri around Thomasville and Cane Bluff. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497

That would mean getting a MO license and finding the time to drive up there. Have to wait and see what 2nd shift will be like at work first. Right now I'm working 1st shift and 10 hour days M-Th with a little OT on Friday. Still get time to get back to Mountain Home Friday afternoon and get the laundry done and read Ozark Anglers forums. Not sure what 2nd will bring. Hopefully I'll still get plenty of time to go fishing. If not, guess I'll have to quit one or the other. Work or fish? Hmmmm... Brian Sloss Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 I can understand that. You should be able to find some smallmouth down there and maybe even get a walleye to boot, which you probably won't get in Missouri. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497

Good eatin' but no fight to 'em. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
