nwaoutdoorsman Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Has anyone heard when the Wednesday night tournaments out of Prairie Creek start? I saw a flier for 'em at Hook Line and Sinker yesterday. Didn't notice the dates though.
Stump bumper Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Just brought this back to top, I am interested also. Anybody got the info yet?
Members spahog Posted May 6, 2010 Author Members Posted May 6, 2010 Stump bumper, They have started. It's a 3 fish tournament. The hours are 7-10:30, and it's out of prairie creek. Last night was the first one I fished. There were 24 boats. The number of boats will increase as its still on the early end of night fishing. It took 11.98 to win last night. I always enjoy fishing this tournament. It's a nice break in the middle of the week. They pay 3 places for big bass, 3 places for big bag (3fish bag), and they pay for big kentucky.

I know they have different entry fee than most jackpots, is it by person or boat? I think $20 covers all the entries but is that for 2 peolpe per boat or one?
Members spahog Posted May 7, 2010 Author Members Posted May 7, 2010 It's $20 per person. I think they do it that way to get more "entries" so that they qualify for Skeeter reel money, etc.
Stump bumper Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Anybody fish through that storm last night? Just wondering if they called it off...
Stump bumper Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Anybody fish the tourament and stay for weigh in?? I was going to, but the wife wanted to fish and I didn't want to pay another entry fee so we just fished. She ended up boating a 3lb spot but I only had about 8lbs myself but a good 4lb black. Just wondering how that would have measured up. Most of our fish came off a drop shot, lost a Redfin at dark must have been a weak knot, was taking a lot of drag then gone. Then after dark we worked jigs around points for serveral smallmouth but only one keeper. Put the boat back on the trailer as soon as the lighting started.
Members spahog Posted June 3, 2010 Author Members Posted June 3, 2010 We fished it. We didnt catch a lot of fish, but we had a 4.35 that was good enough for 2nd big bass and $114. Big bass was 5.33. Third big bass was 3.86, so your 4 lber would have been right there. Big bag was 11.97, second was 7.92, and third was 7.44. You can only weigh three fish on the big bag side. Your wife's 3 pound spot would have been good enough for big spot though. I think 2.52 won.

I feel like a hero if I can break 10lbs with 5 fish, I wish I knew how people find so many big fish on that lake. I have fished that lake for almost ten years and I can count 5lb fish on one hand.
