StarMarineDepot is a storefront. BPS in Springfield honored their price, so the 100 miles is not an issue. Amazon is not a storefront. Finally, here is what I did. BPS honored StarMarineDepot price. I saved $250 on the HDS-10 and $175 on the HDS-8. I also did not have a BPS Credit Card, so I got another 10% discount on my entire order. Finally, I used the money I saved and purchased the BPS warranty. With the BPS warranty, I can take the units back to Springfield and they will exchange it on the spot. Finally, I paid off the BPS credit card then cancelled the card because I hate Bank of America.

It is a three year warranty. Two plans can be purchased. Basic: $99. Premium: $149. Both allow trade ins on the spot but the premium plan also covers accidental damages. As you probably know, Lowrance had some problems with their entry units and that is why I bought the warranty. I did not want to send a unit back to Lowrance and then they send me another one. I have used the BPS warranty twice and my units were exchanged right on the spot.
