slider Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Made a trip to the dam yesterday. Running water thought the crappie might be there. Saw a few crappie caught and a few whitebass. It was tough to fell your bite the wind was coming right down from the dam and you had a big bow in your line on about every cast. Had 3 crappie and 3 white's before dark on sliders just before dark the wind laid somewhat and managed to catch 12 more whites before 10:00 on purple bettles. Left about 10:30 with about 25-30 fish between 3 of us. I think if the wind would have laid we could all of had limits of whites, beter days ahead. emjay Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 How big were your whites? Went last week and the whites were very small. You're right about that wind though, it ruined the fishing because you couldnt fell the line or the lure.

The tick was to use a shad rap rather than soft plastic. You did not need to feel the line with the crank bait so it worked very well in the wind. Heading up again this weekend. Tight lines.
