Members Jim-to-fish Posted May 11, 2010 Members Posted May 11, 2010 I heard about the buckeye wake bait here. Someone said it was easier to throw compared to red-fin. Thinking of wife in this regard. I have no problem with red-fin myself. Like it is stated here some work better out of box. Now question is it better to throw one Buckeye Wakebait on a spinning rod or baitcaster. What kind of test line I assume mono. Any advise on retrieve is appreciated. Jackall has some good ones out of box, but you'll pay more like this one.
Gone Fishing Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 It would be a great lure for your wife. If she can throw a baitcaster I would use it with atleast 15lb mono. The baits are very easy to use. It has a wider wobble than the redfin but sometimes that is what the fish wants.
Members Jim-to-fish Posted May 12, 2010 Author Members Posted May 12, 2010 Its hard to believe that it has a wider wobble than a red-fin, but if you say so. I will be there tomorrow to try it out. Will be stopping by Bass Pro on way down. Hear a Pink Senko is also working. Another bait that is easy to throw. I like the green pumkin candy with green char dipped end. It might be a great week on Rock with rain and some clouds. Jim
