Roaring River Veteran Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 I made it down to the river for a couple of hours yesterday. I got there about 4pm. I spent the entire time in the fly area. According to the Thermometer in the truck it was 86 degrees. there was a slight breeze and it was really an enjoyable day. I was fishing a 7'3# with 7x for the most part but I did go to a 6x with the scuds. It was amazing how much the water has cleared up in a week. it was very clear with good current. I mainly fished black ants and beetles under overhanging trees and did very well. The last thirty minutes or so I fished big heavy scuds ( size 14 with lots of lead ) in the current and caught several fish. I had a nice one on but just for a few seconds. It was probably in the 7 to 8 lb range. Good luck and Good fishing RRV Good luck and Good fishing RRV
