Members Doc Dave Posted May 17, 2010 Members Posted May 17, 2010 Need help guys - We are heading to Eureka Springs next week and plans are to stay for 3 to 4 days. Any suggestions on a good campground where I can pitch a tent and do some flyfishing? Also planning on taking my kayaks? Erin Go Bragh
Members Dumb to fishing Posted May 19, 2010 Members Posted May 19, 2010 Your wanted to fish the White River? Eureka Springs is a pretty good ways from the White River. You may want to fish the King River Jmo.
Zack Hoyt Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Actually the White River starts south of Fayetteville in the Boston Mountains and runs over to the Mississippi. Beaver Taiwlaters, Taneycomo, Bull Shoals Tailwaters are all part of the White River. The COE Campground below Beaver Dam is very nice and is within walking distance to the Tailwaters. Tailwaters has a good population of rainbow trout. Kings River is great for smallies and is just East of Eureka. We have got a ton of rain, so fishing opportunities may be sketchy w/o a boat on the Tailwaters. Kings might be too high for wading or floating, but if rain lays off a bit, it should lower a bit and be in good shape. Here is a website about the COE campground. It is about 4 miles west of Eureka. http://www.reserveamerica.com/campgroundDetails.do?subTabIndex=0&&contractCode=nrso&parkCode=dam7 Zack Hoyt OAF Contributor Flies, Lies, and Other Diversions
