Hunter75 Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I fish The Rock quite often, but it is always for bass, have a few youngsters coming out with me next weekend and they want to catch some crappie. Just wondering where to go to drown some minnows. Will be in the State Park and Indian Point area. Any info would be great.

I would start checking out the deeper docks just up the creek arm from Indian Point Marina! Darren Sadler "Fishing is an Education...Often the fish 'school' me, yet I do not complain. You could catch some, however if I was wanting to take "youngsters" fishing and keep them occupied and have a fish fry at the end of the day I would grab a couple boxes of crawlers and expect to catch all the bluegill I would want to clean. Plus a few other bonus fish, everything likes to eat crawlers! Just my opinion. Hunter75 Posted May 26, 2010 Author Posted May 26, 2010 we ususally go for bluegill, they are easy to catch off our dock, but the kids really want to try something else. They want to go out in the boat and catch crappie. They heard we had been catching good crappie at Stockton, but Memorial Day weekend is our family get together at our dock on Table Rock. Using crawlers for bluegill is my backup plan if we can't find any crappie.
Members Darron Cooper Posted June 3, 2010 Members Posted June 3, 2010 Guys I am new on the forum. I am looking for crappie also. I fish the indian point area. I have heard there are no crappie there and you had to go down to Long Creek and Cricket Creek. I went to cricket creek marina 3 weeks ago and they said the season was over but they had caught many nice crappie up to 2 lbs. I fish beaver with a crappie guide buddy and always catch fish around structure. His motto is if there is structure there are crappie. He sinks a lot of brush, baits docks, etc. so he has placed to hold fish. I would imagine now the crappie are 20+ foot deep. Anybody catch them in Indian Point area? If so how? Minnows around docks, jigs? I have heard so much conflicting info and never heard from anyone who actually caught crappie in the area. Can you sink stuff on Table Rock? Thanks.
