Predator1 Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Just wondering if anyone uses planer boards while trolling for Walleye?
Hunter91 Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 I have used them in the past and they do have some good applications, but I use leadcore as it tends to track better to me than long lining and planer boards.
rangerman Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Last week I used my planer boards and I was catching fish pretty much every pass on the "outside" lines. In the clear water of Bull Shoals, planer boards rock. I use the Offshore tackle brand, I think they are the 0R12 with the snapper releases so I could use my fireline with no probs'. I was pulling two leadcore rods on the inside and 2 planer board rods on the outside. It works great, we had numerous doubles on and no tangles whatsoever even on tight turns.
