I was down at Lilley's last week. Fishing for me was the best it's been in three years. I am a trout wantabee. This trip I drift floated Fall to Short creek many times, caught most of the fish in that section--and the only brown. I drifted down to monkey island one day and caught fish all the way down. The only bait I used was nightcrawler with a powerbait ball to get it to float. I had a great time. I stayed at Lilley's and the people there are outstanding.

I am now back to catching bluegill and channel cats for the summer, but I'm looking forward to trip back to the Tanney in August.

Sounds like you had a great time. Be careful with your trips to Taney, it can be addictive! LOL. It's the fishing I do mostly now.

When you go back, take some time to learn to fish jigs. Either a small jig under a float, or a litter larger jig on the bottom. That's when it WILL become addictive.

Phil will be glad to give you the info you need for jig fishing. You can also get a lot of info from this forum.

I will try to jig in August. I bought some jigs and I tied a few, but the trout were hitting the worms and why mess with what is working??

Fog on the river. Here's a picture of boat fishing.

I caught nice brown. About 14" long. First Brown. :)

Also got a nice rainbow. About 15".

Great time.

Hey brother those are both rainbow pics. Rainbows come in a lot of shapes and colors. The first looks like a male and the second like a female to me.

Oh, if it was a Rainbow, it was a good disguise --cause I let it go. Well, I guess I have to still catch my first Brown.

Well--maybe in August.

What part of August are you going to be there? I'll be there 19-22 for a tournament on the 21st. If you are around then maybe I can help feed the addiction!
