Gday,

Like the other TFO Series One as TFO describes them, quality isn't much of an issue _ They are way better than the price would suggest. Saltwater rods 8wts and up are where TFO made their name first off out on the West Coast. They still make good ones

Action isn't going to be fast, kinda moderate action, easy to cast without being a cannon or a noodle. Good for big wind resistant flies like bass bugs, but probably not my first choice for a sinking line and a Clouser.

No tube with this rod but you do get a $25 flat fee warranty.

The next step up is the Professional at $184. Four piece and a bit more beef in the butt, but again not a super quick stick. The TiCR 8wt is a nice fact action at $209 while I love their TiCRX 7'6" 8wt ($249.95) That is one amazing stick for the price and is truly unique, but might be outside the price range your looking at.

Unfortunately I don't have the Series 1 8wt in stock. But if your interested and in the area come in and cast the Professional, TiCR and TiCrX. I also have a couple of St Croix (one at $150) and one Sage 8wts 25% off for comparison.

Casting is really the only way to pick a rod you like _ bnesides its fun.

Cheers

TFO is the best rod for the money! They all cast well but a quality rod for $100.00. I bought one the other day and now my wife wants one. If you don't have one buy one.

All I fish are TFO rods. I bought them at beginner level based on advise. According to many experienced flyfisherman I know, as well as myself, TFO rods are the best at their price at most all sizes and models they offer. Keep in mind lifetime warranty.
