Can anybody give me some info on the bass bite?? The fourth is my Bday and I'm thinking of going to either loz or twain for my day off. I haven't been out to loz since may and would need an update before making the haul. Any info would help tremendously.

I was wondering as well. Im headed down the 5th through the 12th..I have been reading that the lake is quite muddy. We stay right at the mouth of the Little Niangua. Is it starting to clear or still really dingy???

I fished the Niangua Arm near where the Little Niangua comes in this weekend. I really only fished a few hours each morning but was surprised at the quality of bass we caught, especially monday morning. All of our keepers (released) were caught on carolina rigged plastic worms in red shad. Mainly had luck around points and tried to find areas with less docks. Water clarity was about 2 feet, and seemed to be clearing up as the weekend went on. This was my second trip to LOZ this year and I am really surprised at the amount of 4-6lb fish. Good luck and look out as the big boats really start coming out around 8:30 or 9:00.

Fishing has been great>! Most of the fish are done spawning but some fish are still shallow. But the point fishing on the main lake is where it's at. 10inch Berkley worms. Some quality fish too, I had a 8 pounder over the weekend! Also there is a great white bass bite too on the main lake. You can catch 100 fish a day if you want to. Mostly small but really fun if you don't find the largemouth.

Just wanted to say thanks. Never heard of a guide that was so helpful and willing to share info. I've been out on loz with two other guides...the next time the business is yours. Thanks to everybody else too. I'm going to head out there and give it a shot. Hopefully i get an 8 pounder for my bday.

Thanks!!!

Has anyone been using any top water??? Or do the bass seem to be deeper?

A lot can change in one week, but we were still finding them shallow with Wiggle Warts on main lake points on the Osage. We couldn't catch much in the Niangua nor the Glaize, but on the main (Osage) channel, we point hopped and usually caught at least one fish per point. Caught some really nice quality fish on Sunday. Monday was a little tougher, but still plenty of 15"+ fish. On Sunday the bite died about 11am, and Monday it died about an hour earlier about 10am. Red Wiggle Warts seemed to make a difference. Other color didn't produce nearly as well, for whatever reason.
