I haven't been able to make it down in nearly two weeks, and I was wondering if there has been any terrestrial activity lately? I know it's a little early in the year for hopper fishing, but it has been pretty darn hot lately.

I was thinking with the the water back to being normal and clear, it might be a good time to try a hopper dropper rig instead of the usual indicator set up.

Good luck. I'll be down Monday and I think I'll give it a shot.

Was down at montauk over the weekend:

0 hoppers to be found.

Probably too early.

Tried a stimulator/idropper setup, almost no interest in the big chicken of a fly. Later in summer when hoppers are out it usually gets some hits.

The black ant #18 is the only I have had luck with so far. Also the Y's Neversink Trude Peacock #14 is starting to take some good Brown's below the park.

Take a Child Fishing they are the future of the sport.
