polock Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 fished all last week and it was a very good week on the lower current. the night of 6-1 caught around 10 smallies biggest around 15 inches on two tailed grubs of dark colors, morning of 6-2 was amazing, 21 smallies, all mostly on top water pop-r's biggest one stretched to 19" several keeper sized a few goggle eyes, and all were caught before 8am. Evening of 6-2 produced fish on crawdad looking plastics on deeper rocky banks. 6-3- rained last night, bite was a lot slower, still a few on top water but nothing like the day before. caught a lot more goggle eye on 3" grubs, fished till dark, 6-4 morning, no topwater action at all, but the grub action was pretty good, mostly small fish but a lot were active, the storms over night had them pretty tight mouthed and the fish that were biting were in deeper slower water with large rock. I noticed a lot of bedding going on, No fluke bite what so ever though, kinda disappointed in that because it is my favorite go to bait on the current for spring. Pics on the way of a few, White was a hot color in anything during the mornings, darker pumpkin, browns and black hot at night. I was fishing in between goose neck and doniphan. never tried a mid day bite but usually when I fish mid day the bite is pretty good but ya gotta hit the breaks in the current of deeper water.
