Tuesday The First

Recommended Posts

Made It down to sunburst Ranch around 3pm on monday and set camp up on the gravel bar and started fishing the run up then back down, found some fish nothing big

we loaded the truck with our rods and hit the road in search of some more water to wade, amazing enough the gravel road we choose lead us straight to the water on the first try

one of our friends was already there fishing and we invited him to join us the next day for the float

we fished there untill it was too dark to see, together we picked up 5 fish

the next day we sight fished to a big brown from around 5:30 am to 8 am most of the time was spent studing the fish before we took turns casting to it

we had several follows but no takes so we loaded up and headed down to meet our friend

after we set off from patrick bridge the fishing was off to a slow start but got better as the day went on

we all picked up some fish with one I caught being a nice fat brown I thought it needed to smile for the camera so everyone could injoy this beautiful Fishpost-9103-12758798124623_thumb.jpg post-9103-12758799705402_thumb.jpg

I caught fish on the weighted rust color pats rubber leg and squirrel tail nymph dropper while my friends caught fish on black stones and eggs

we all caught our share of fish wasn't the best day on The NFOW but wasn't the worst day by far either post-9103-12758799350062_thumb.jpg

water level was around 860cfs with partly cloudy skies

thanks to Justin for letting me stay at his place for the night we wish we wouldn't have forgot the coffee

Seeing golden stones everywhere, on canoes, on the vans, on the windshield driving down the road. No time to fish myself but I would guess if you imitate them you might just catch a fish (i would say size 8). From the reports I'm getting fishing has been pretty steady, not great but not nearly as tough as it can be. Yesterday with the cloud cover the bite from Sunburst to James was really good for browns.
