Members mford1 Posted June 7, 2010 Members Posted June 7, 2010 I recently did some float fishing and some wading on the creek, thougth Id share a report. floating was great, the water is at a perfect level now no dragging yet. we did some spin fishing using super flukes and grubs. not many keepers but lots of action. went wading a couple days later without the canoe further upstream and did a lot better. caught about everything that swims in the creek. carp, largemouth, brownies, rock bass and sunfish galore. even had an eagle keep me company, cant remember seeing one this time of year. must be a resident by now. near nuff crawdads brougt in the bigger fish. clouser minnows caught everything else.
Lshack2 Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Did you find any color combination of clouser to be more effective? "All first-class fishermen on the Sea of Galilee were fly fishermen and that Apostle John, the favorite, was a dry fly fisherman..."Norman MacLean

Members mford1 Posted June 11, 2010 Author Members Posted June 11, 2010 I try to imitate minnows in the creek. the duskystripe shiner is the one I see the most. brown on top, white on the bottom with black crystal flash and gold or bronze flashabou in the middle. seems to work pretty good. I use the craft fur instead of deer hair. chartreuse works too.
