Members Bill Saenger Posted June 9, 2010 Members Posted June 9, 2010 What kind of knot is a good one for 2 lb vanish, also how does one tie a leader from the jig to the scud to run 2 lures at once Thanks alot Dan My trout fishing is aqlmost entirely with two and four pound Vanish and I use the palomar knot. I have never experienced a knot failure with this knot when correctly tied. After tying give the line a firm pull to check that the knot is secure. Bill Saenger
Gatorjet Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Fish-N-Fool I have been giving this one a try. Looks hard to tie, but with a little practice it becomes easy. Winner of North American Fishing Club's "Knot Wars" on Versus TV, and beat out the Palomar for strength. You might want to skip the first half. It's a commercial for his version of a Sink-O. Real men go propless!

It's funny that he "invented" a Uni-knot where you go through the hook eye twice before making the standard Uni-knot - like I've been using to tie braid direct for more than 15 years. Anyway, it is a good knot, but you better wet that sucker when tying it with fluoro, it has plenty of "slip" when tying it, which can cause fluoro to "burn" if not moistened.
