Members ltomczyk Posted June 15, 2010 Members Posted June 15, 2010 So I had the boss drop me off at Greenbridge yesterday afternoon for my standard 4-hour float-n-fish back to Riverside bridge. Good news first - caught some decent smallies and largemouths (and a few green sunfish with high hopes) on a green pumpkin bitsy tube. Bad news is two-fold: I thought they did a massive river clean-up last weekend. And thanks to all who participated. Your efforts are very much appreciated. I'd like to find the scumbags who came in behind the cleaning crew and left the bud light bottles along the river side. Get a clue. I know I am preaching to the choir and that most likely these idiots are not visiting this forum, but rather sitting at home drinking their bong water looking for their next welfare check! But I digress - the other pain is that the owner of the nice field on the down stream side of the Riverside bridge has decided to put up a very sturdy and well made barb wire fence. Not knowing it was there, and that is the location where the boss picks me up on the road, I had to cross the river to the restraunt side and bushwhack my way up to the road (tresspassing on someone else's property - thanks and sorry for not getting permission.) So, the question at hand is how to legally and ethically get a boat up to the road for a pick-up?
Coldspring Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 I canoe upstream all the time. A rope, kayak paddle, sturdy shoes, and even a long pole are all you need to get it back up to where you put in.
TSmith Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Yeah I think the reason the property owner decided to installed the fence is because of the recent drowning of a kid that occurred around a week ago. (liability I think) I believe that fishing is usually better when there is a full moon. People are more crazy when there is a full moon. Thank God He made fish the way He did so I can have better fishing when people are crazier than normal.
Daveinozark Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Yeah I think the reason the property owner decided to installed the fence is because of the recent drowning of a kid that occurred around a week ago. (liability I think) true, I noticed a heavier fortification of that area. Maybe kids will quit jumping off that bridge now. Very tragic though If you continue on past Riverside inn, there's a small pull-off at the intersection of Green bridge road and riverside road. Enough room to get a vehicle in, I always use that
Daveinozark Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 looks like they're getting ready to tear it down: http://ccheadliner.com/articles/2010/06/16/news/doc4c17af832999b188247402.txt not sure what the plan is after they do. Maybe they'll leave that parking lot in
