Members kayaker Posted June 21, 2010 Members Posted June 21, 2010 Fished and floated all day this past Saturday. Would throw a tube when I was in my kayak and flyfished when I got out to wade. Had a great day, caught lots of little fish and a few nice ones, they all feel nice on the flyrod. Finally figured out a fly pattern of bouncing a lead eyed woolly bugger with rubber legs along the bottom, even caught two catfish doing that. Wanted to post some pictures but all my pictures are all slightly bigger than the 2MB max. Any suggestions how to get them on? Water conditions were really good, not to low, not to high, and clear.
KCRIVERRAT Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Where did you put in and take out? HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
Members kayaker Posted June 21, 2010 Author Members Posted June 21, 2010 Put in at Bannister Ford and floated 6 miles down to Fiery Fork Access. Took me 9 hours, fished slow and hard the entire way. The people at Cedar Camp were really nice to work with and shuttled me.

Sadly, he passed away last year waiting on some floaters to arrive at Bannister. HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS

woodman Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 When I was down their last month I put in their and fished a ways down stream. On the long stretch just around from the bridge the Gar were pretty active. With the troling motor I just motered back up past the bridge and got into some cat fishing. On the road by the bridge at cedar camp some one put boulders off to the side where you used to be able to park 2 or 3 cars. And launching a canoe (by ones self) is more difficult now. I love that river and the steep landscape (like the southern Ozarks) in that particular spot just stand out from the flatter area say around Truman lake etc. Born in Joplin and raised in K.C. as a kid we used to go down to the Elk and Big sugar back in the early 60's but that down their has all changed.... Kayaker what's you're boat look like? http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/

Goggle-Eyed Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Just curious what the floating was like. I have a 17' lowe paddle jon and I am thinking of doing the float this weekend. My boat floats about like a canoe so just curious if they have kept the "blockages" cleared or if you had to portage around any obtructions. This is one of my favorite floats but I haven't done it in two years and have never done it this late in the year. Thanks, Joe

Just to low and too much dragging in the section above and below cedar camp.
