Members asap52 Posted June 27, 2010 Members Posted June 27, 2010 Hey guys, needing some input from you concerning leader and tippet for the LIR. I'm wondering what brands and sizes that would be appropiate for dry and nymph fishing there. Thanks for your info. Corky
DaddyO Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Corky, Rio tapered leaders work well because they already have the loop. I buy the BassPro brand. They don't have the loop but they are a buck less than the Rio brand and I can tie a Perfection loop in 15 seconds. 9ft 5x is what I buy and I also have a spool of 5x, 6x and 7x tippet. On the LIR you can get away with 5x most of the time. If I am doing a lot of midge fishing, I will sometimes switch to the 6x. I hope that helps. DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.

Any suggestions on which one is best suited to the type of fishing in the LIR? Here are some I'm seeing, SuppleFlex, Fluoroflex Plus, POWERFLEX. How many leaders do you guys keep on hand? Thanks again. Corky
