Kinda had to... Dang stockers weren't big enough to fit their mouths around the 1/16th ounce pinky jig...Did I strike a nerve there, RED? lolI'll save you some time, I'll be on the Osage Fork.. If you just go to Evergreen (Twin Bridges) and pee off the bridge it'll eventually make it's way downstream to me sometime tomorrow... ;)

LOL no, just some good hearted ribbing. but for real it's blonde. Just so you know. You can call me whatever you want though Pinky :)

So since you din't say how it went on the fly I am guessing not well?

I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted.

Yes it was a good time. Same great group plus a few fellas I had not had the privilege of meeting yet. Shame most the fish were about half the size of seasons past, hopefully this trend does not continue.

For my first trip to BSSP I was, shall we say suprised? I won't say disappointed, but I expected more larger fish. Friday was slow for me but good size. Saturday after lunch the numbers were awesome but size was lacking. Jerry and Rich did spot a 3 or 4 pound Brown that would've been nice to hookup with Saturday though!

I know a ribbing when I administer/receive it... ;)

As for how it went with the fly rod? Someone around here has a signature that says there's a fine line between fly fishing and standing in the river flailing about like a fool... I still feel I resemble the latter.

(The park was too crowded and I was self-conscious...)

I had to forgo the waders, I went to my spot on the side of the dam at the end of zone one, hooked my four Lil dinks and went home/to wrk.. Kinda hard to be proud when a limit of four is only a pound of skin/bones/meat...

Got home about 4:30 yesterday. Had a great time! Thanks to all who came down. We'll do it again!!! It is always nice to fish with friends and meet new ones.

Fishing was slow at times for me but I had several great hours. Monday evening I caught a lot on a 12 G Gnat just above the Dam. hits every cast for an hour. Doesn't get any better than that!

Tueday by the island was a slow start. Caught a couple on the John Deere and a couple on SZ18 olive midge. Moved up to Holland Dam in the faster, shallow water and did real well on the olive midge.

JDC sure put it on them on Sunday in the fast water in zone 2!!! ( I think I could smell garlic cheese) Good job, Jason.

Just a note from the weekend.... never eat half a watermelon from Jon and head right out to the stream...anyone know how to get urine smell out of waders?

I'm thinking another get together is in order at the opening of catch and release... more later. Maybe end of Oct?

Later, Jerry

Sounds like you guys had a good trip. Concerning the smaller fish I read on Weavers the improvements made to the hatchery would result in smaller fish for a bit, but sounds like it will be back to "normal" before to long.

Just out of curiousity how were the overall numbers?

I may be able to make it down if you guys are going again during C/R.

Overall numbers we down a little I would say but so were the fisherman. Put in 1800 Sunday, 700 Monday and 600 tues I believe...not exact figures. Getting them to bite is another matter.

Glad you got into some good numbers Jerry, a strike a cast would make for an awesome day! Your waders, unfortunately, are shot Jerry. You just can't get the urine smell out. You should just give them to me for proper disposal :) The fishing in the fast water on Sunday was a blast! Thanks for the kind words. The "Magic Pheasant Tail" sure knocked em dead.

Standing by for next trip!

#'s of fish caught for me personally were about: 9 for a 3/4 day of fishing Saturday and 18 for another 3/4 day Sunday (with 14 coming from the fast water in Zone 2 that Jerry spoke of in maybe 3 hours? not sure what time I ended up quitting fishing and just BS'ing lol)
