timsfly Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Went out on the lake early, in my kayak had some good top water action on my 7wt, big poppers were good today. It got hot so I went back to R.R. to fish awhile, the dry fly fishing is really good right now the fish are stacked in some of the holes, I only fished about 2 hrs and landed 13 trout, all but two on a dry fly, most on a beetle, a few on a crackleback and a few on an ant. I hooked a few on on a pheasant tail, but didn't land any on the nymph. I'm not sure why anyone would fish a nymph with the dry fly fishing as good as it is. Didn't catch any big ones but most were in the 12" range a few were a bit bigger and a few were a bit smaller, but all were fun on my 1wt today.
