built 12 years ago, still going, My cost was about $200 with a air conditioner Friend doing the work to install air work with 50ft copper tubing curled up in filter barrel & giving me smsall conditioner he picked up from side of road and serviced, All for free. Friends are great, but hes gone now. Will cost to get fixed if ever goes out. Any one have any good info on how their holding shad in warmer water? Ive held shad in here up to 3 months, I try not to keep more than 150 with 1200 pump, but should hold 300 with 3500 pump. Only doing 3 water changes of 50 gals a day, first 3 days, since dealing with clorine to save on water condidtioner, than just changing polyfill when needed. Heres how I did mine.

1 big plastic tank,$75. the ones with metal bars work good. Make sure didnt have bad chemicals in it.

1 50 gal barrel $10.

1 4 gal bucket free

1 - 1200gph pump $80.

foam from water bed free.

plastic wrap for packing from wal marts $7.00

Had a little of the thin silver insulation around to wrap around filter barrel.

I have filtered with carbon with best results over the years. Been trying biological with lava rock& a Sress Zime with live bacteria, but thinging that after all waste is gone the good bacteria might be doing me harm, so going back to carbon. Also just got some AmQuel Plus from Pet Co. For Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia. Anybody know any thing about this, havnt used yet. Any pointers on keeping shad would sure help us all.
