Members kre11 Posted July 5, 2010 Members Posted July 5, 2010 I havent had a chance to go after any hybrids or whites yet this year, I like to catch them when they are schooling on top. Has anyone been seeing or catching any around the dam area lately?
Members Wahoo61 Posted July 16, 2010 Members Posted July 16, 2010 I was down on Sunday. It was overcast and the whites and hybrids were occassionally hitting on top below the dam. Did nothing on the lake. However, I only fished O3. Storm came in and I was done. Below the dam later in the day after the storm they were hitting out in the middle, but could not get to them. I left before it got late. All I know.
shaker Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 I have been curious myself as haven't had a chance to go for a while should get down next week for a couple days will let everyone know what I find out.
Members VIP Posted July 24, 2010 Members Posted July 24, 2010 A friend that works with my wife, says he goes every week and catches his limit. He won't tell me anything but he uses a white crappie jig. What do I need to look for? Just drive around waiting for them to surface? The only place I have ever put in at is at the dam or just down from there off 83 (I think, Osage Bluff maybe). I normally fish LOZ, but with the traffic, I'd like to try Truman a little more and check out these whites. Anyone willing to share some info, if you are not to tight lipped. Like others, I don't want your gps locations, just some pointers.
Members Wahoo61 Posted July 25, 2010 Members Posted July 25, 2010 Below the dam, above the dam at O3, G4 fishing the humps and around KK island fishing the humps. They are likely to surface around any of the spots if they are there, generally when it is overcast, or early in the morning or late in the evening. I fish for hybrids, not whites, so cannot help you there. Good luck.

I am heading up there tomorrow armed with fly rods for the whites, but would really like to catch some of the bigger hybrids. Do you catch them surfacing or are you marking them at a certain depth and dropping spoons or shad to them?
