Billfo Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 I plan on doing quite a bit of fishing in the Big Indian Creek area (south of Baxter). I have the 2010 SOUTH region of the Navionix Hot Spots SD that included TABLE ROCK LAKE.. Well kind of.. The main lake is covered pretty good- but the western part of the lake "like Big Indian Creek" does NOT have any detail other than 2 depth rings. No structure- no tips- nothing ! Now I am faced with getting the PREMIUM chip & hope that it is better detail than the "standard" chip I already have. At least I can get the $75 rebate if I trade-in my "standard" chip. Anyone have any experience in the Big Indian Creek area ? Or know if the 2010 Navionix "PREMIUM" shows more detain in the western coves & in Big Indian Creek ? Thanks, Billfo Email me Red-Right-Returning is for quitters !
steveearle Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 I don't know if this has anything to do with your problem, but its something that I have noticed as someone that travels to TRock. I have arrived a couple of times and thought my GPS unit was messed up and started playing with the settings. When you go into the menu with these new chips and you choose the state you are in and the region of the state, etc. (SW missouri, etc.), you have to highlight Arkansas and not SW Missouri to get the detail to increase (to utilize the chip and not the basemap) for Table Rock, even thought the majority of the lake is in MO. Just a tidbit from someone who has started to freak out on the water more than once with this problem....

[/quote I don't think I understand your question. 2' contour intervals are normal on the Navionics chip. 2' "depth Rings" ??????? Not sure of your question. Billfo Posted July 8, 2010 Author Posted July 8, 2010 Well that certainly rang a bell ! Thank you for jarring my memory. I remember seeing that someplace.. Its like Navionix loaded the software onto the chip "in blocks"... That would certainly explain the "cutoff" of detail !!! I will conform this at the end of the month !!! Thanks again !.. 7/9/10 UPDATE::::: You were exactly correct. That "block" of information for the west end of Table Rock was included on the ARKANSAS maps.. All is fine in my world again. Thank you !! I don't know if this has anything to do with your problem, but its something that I have noticed as someone that travels to TRock. Billfo Posted July 8, 2010 Author Posted July 8, 2010 Sorry I didnt explain that very well, but "steveearle" answered my question. What I meant by 2 depth rings is ..on the west end of the lake, the details are limited to only 10' and 20' depth contours.. No structure, no flooded timber, nothing..
