Members kcbear Posted July 12, 2010 Members Posted July 12, 2010 A friend and I intend to fish the Thursday evening tournament on 7-15-2010. I have been wanting to do this since they started back in April, I believe. The problem is that I live in Merriam, Kansas-- 135 miles from Stockton. I am still working which makes it a little difficult to get there in time for the tournament unless I take off pretty early in the day. Another problem is that finishing at 9pm means another hour to weigh in, get the boat out, and get ready to drive the 2 1/2 hours back home. This means that I might get to bed by 1am Friday-- and up for work on Friday by 5am. Since I don't get to fish Stockton nearly as much as I would like, I doubt that we would have much of a chance of even placing in the tournament, let alone win. The $40.00 fee, another $60 for truck gas-- another $20 for dinner-- another $20 for boat gas-- This is a $140.00 tournament!! With this sad story in mind, I would like for Mr. Bennett to agree to give me and my partner a total weight handicap of at least 3 pounds--kind of a head start if you will. Just kidding, Bob!!!-- The truth is we are looking forward to our 1st go at a bass tournament. In fact I plan to fish all day Thursday and most of Friday, with the tournament a priority on Thursday eve. So, if it ain't lightning, or pouring buckets---WE'LL SEE YOU THERE THURSDAY!!! KC BEAR
Stockton Lake Guide Service Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Sounds great, should be a great night to take my money!! Saves me from having to post a new notice too. Everyone is invited this Thursday from 6 pm to 9:30 pm, Ruark Bluff, 40.00 per team includes big bass. Great time and you will be fishing the best bass lake in missouri. If you have every thought about fishing one of these, do it this thursday and lets try to get 30 boats out there. The more boats, the more confused I will get when trying to do the weigh in so you can all make fun of me!! See you at the ramp about 5:30!!! adjust555 Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Cu Thursday night. I want a 4lb handycap since it has been over a year since I bass fished on stockton. Not kidding. Get on it.
Thunderin Gobbler Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 I bass fish that lake every weekend and still can't seem to find any keepers. I usually catch between 20-40 bass each time out, but have only caught a limit of keepers once in the past year. I don't really feel like "giving" my money away quite yet. But one of these days I will.
Stockton Lake Guide Service Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Try fishing a little deeper for the big ones. It is an easy lake to catch 40 fish a day, but sometimes them big ones hide out a little deeper. Didn't for me last week, but that is what they were supposed to be doing. Good luck1!
