I was looking at RedHead® Finley River Stocking-Foot Chest Waders from BP. Anyone have any experience? Here is the description: are made of 420 denier nylon with PU backing for 100% waterproof protection. All seams have been taped and tested at the factory to prevent leaks. 3.5mm neoprene bootie.

I'm like something light-weight I can wear comforably in the heat and layer under in the cold. Thanks

My son has a pair of Finley Rivers. They are not breatheable, which makes them pretty hot. Also, he has had a leak already and he has only had them since Christmas.

I say definitely go with a breatheable. I own a pair of BPS breatheables (the cheapest model breatheable at BPS) and they leak a bit. They are about 4 years old I think.

There are a couple of previous discussion about good quality waders on here, do a search and you will find a treasure trove of info.

I was afraid of that, the leaking part. Thanks for the info.

Personally, I have a set of Cabela's Dry Plus G2s. I paid around $99.00 for them and have had no problems. They are breatheable. I've had them for three years now and no leaks yet. They work well in the winter with a good base layer and cool enough until it hits about 85 degrees when wet wading is probably the way I would go anyway. Just my two pennies.

if you are gonna get waders, you are gonna get what you pay for, buy cheap waders and you will most likely be dissatisfied. Yeah you are gonna have to fork out a little extra cash, but buying one pair of top of the line waders and having them last a long time with the lifetime warranty, is better than paying $100 bucks once a year for crap. Then take in the aspect of how much time you are gonna spend on the water. Not to upset any of the guys on here, but how many days do you average on the river a year. This year i have 100 days on the water already. when it comes down to it, you have to get what YOU want. Listen especially to those who put their time on the water, who know quality and what is gonna last. Im not doggin the cheaper waders, but whatever.

I'm pretty sure all that redhead stuff is Bass Pro isn't it? If so I wouldn't do it. I've had 3 pair of Bass Pro waders. They all 3 seemed pretty well constructed and were fairly comfortable but all only lasted me about a year. That's just not good enough in my opinion. I do like some bass pro products but not their waders. I would spend more - especially if you plan to use them much. I have Simms waders now and they are good but I've only had them 7 months so I can't comment on their longevity yet.
