Kansas Fly Fisher Posted July 5, 2006 Author Posted July 5, 2006 Posting the tying instructions on the forum sounds okay to me. Each tyer could add a final post after the swap is completed with the instructions to their particular fly. That would save on the size of the tag. Especially if it's a complicated fly. How does this sound to everyone else? Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
timsfly Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 My black mohair leeches are in the mail, let me know when you receive them. Thank you John, for hosting the swap Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
jOrOb Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I like the idea of posting the tying instructions online instead of trying to add them to the card. I have mine tied, and should have them in the mail tomorrow. jOrOb "The Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he has been particularly good to me." Rev MacLean
Kansas Fly Fisher Posted July 6, 2006 Author Posted July 6, 2006 I've updated (edited) the rules to show the suggestion to post the tying instructions on a final post after the swap. John Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM

jOrOb Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Where are we going to post our recipes? I hate to add them as a reply to this thread, since it is already 3 pages. I figured we have three good options. 1: Start another thread here 2: Start a thread on the fly recipes section for each pattern 3: Start a thread on the Recipes section and have everyone add a reply with their recipe on it. It really doesn't matter to me, I just thought we should put them in the most friendly area, so I was looking for input. jOrOb "The Lord has blessed us all today... Kansas Fly Fisher Posted July 6, 2006 Author Posted July 6, 2006 I like option 3. That would keep the "swap" recipes all together so we could find them easier when we need them. The Thread could be title after the swap so that future swaps could follow suit with their own thread on the recipe page. Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
Danoinark Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Phil might even pin the thread too. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
jOrOb Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 I like that. It's a plan. Make sure you put it down in the big book of everything for Phil. Hehehe jOrOb "The Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he has been particularly good to me." Rev MacLean
Kansas Fly Fisher Posted July 7, 2006 Author Posted July 7, 2006 The big book of everything as been edited. I've changed rule #5 to reflect these changes and added a rule #6. I think it's starting to take shape. John Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
