wacky worm Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 hey there everyone i havent posted in a while been busy floating boats we have fished several times lately and done quite well so last night we launched at 7:15 pm at hog heaven headed to riverside our good friend walt is in town and he took reds pero me and jean ann in the general slocum temp was still warm moon came out about 3/4 full i caught a fish on the first cast with the wacky worm jean ann was fishing a new color worm "bull frog" (zoom) she caught at least 15 she also lost a few that we got to see close to the boat it was a good mix of smallies and largies with a occasional goggle eye i was showing her how to catch fish on the shallow side of the river watch carefully and have a rod and reel ready with a top water plug you will see fish moving in to get the shad and you throw right in on top of him and most of the time he will hit it i caught at least three quality fish that way last night i was using my 15 dollar Sammie we sat and caught fish at reds beach till 10:30 pm then paddled on down to the take out fishing at night this time of year is the only way to fly sorry phil my camera has some issue (dont we all) :D keep floatin Russ sorry forgot to talk about the river level is dropping we need rain water temp is up water clarity is real nice get out and paddle soon Russ Stovall OAF FISHING CONTIBUTOR www.hogheavencanoe.com

We want to come down the first week of August, the 4th, 5th, and 6th. My dad and nephew want to come too. I will bring my kayaks and would like to get a couple of your jackson kayaks for my dad and nephew. Will you guys be there that week?
