Chief Grey Bear Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I let everything go. Certainly nothing wrong with that. Ozark you're probably the only person I've heard of that jug fishes and lets the cats go. Nothing wrong with that, but not something I've seen people do, usually it's the frying pan for those jug fish! Add my dad to that list. He will keep a handful for a fishfry, but 95+% are still swimming. His largest C&R jug fishing was a 65 pound flathead. vanven Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 PS - I can go to these pits any time I like, with one young boy and another boy on the way I am not looking to wear out my welcome. Sorry, Jerod, no can do. That statement was aimed at anyone that might read this. If I am going to drive 2 hours it will be for trout. I do have access to a 16 acre watershed in Kansas where I can catch 5-10 lb bass all day long. It is just too far to stop by after work and drag the spinning gear out for an hour. -Jerod
OzarkFishman Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 Good luck finding close ponds to fish. Don't overlook neighborhood ponds. I grew up in Blue Springs and the Waterfield ponds hold some good bass. I have a neighborhood pond down here that I hit a few times a month.
