timsfly Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 fishing is very good right now at the park, I fished my Tenkara rod today and landed 20 nice trout before I came in to work. I caught the first 5 on a #14 adams, and the next 15 I caught on a white chamois worm, I think I could have kept catching them( I was in the C&R area) on dries but I found a pool of trout there must have been 50 in the pool and none would come up, well two did but I missed both of them, I started catching them on nearly every cast for the first 10 minutes and then it slowed up a bit, I moved down a bit and it was just like before, they were all over the chamois worm, so I just kept fishing the fly, if it ain't broke don't fix it Fishing is really good, the water is low and clear and the fish are hitting dries most of all day, come down and try your luck. Buzz Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I really like fishing the C & R section. There are some really nice sized fish in there too. I had a rainbow of at least 4 pounds swim right up to me 3 times. He just wasn't hungry. Not to mention the fact that with this heat it is nice to get in and wade. Were you weighting the worms or just letting them sink on thier own? If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

Members kayaker Posted August 16, 2010 Members Posted August 16, 2010 Tenkara looks perfect for Roaring River. What model of rod are you using? Do you sell Tenkara rods or are they only available through TenkaraUSA. I am considering getting one.
