Can someone give me a tip as to where to begin bowhunting on the corp land around Stockton? It's such a big area and I can't boat very far to reach remote areas. Thanks!!

I've done quite a bit of bowhunting around Masters. Lots of deer up there, and not a whole lot of pressure during bow season from what I could tell. Another area that looks promising is the land right there around the CC boat ramp. From the road it looks pretty good, and I may try that out as well this year.

Thanks Gobbler, The CC area is the only place I have hunted. Didn't need a boat to get there. I did have a small buck run in to my grunt across from the ramp. I have seen several nice bucks taken from the area but understand the best spots need to be accessed from the lake side. Good luck and maybe we'll bump into each in some good hunting spots!!

I hunted by Masters last year and didn't see anything but a big spike, but he was right under me, although not legal so I didn't shoot. Also saw people walking around scouting and setting up stands for gun season which was closing in when I went. The archery and mussleloading area there is very open and tough to bowhunt, since it's open there the deer can spot you long before you get to where you are setting up. That's been my experience. Anybody else have any ideas on that area I'd love to hear them. Last year was my first time hunting there and I'm still learning.
