Amish Bill Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I was at Fellows last week and noticed there was no length limit on crappie. So does this mean it's full of 6inch crappie? I was just wondering what the average size is. Thanks..Bill "Life's too short to fish with a dead minner..."
Members Zac Seale Posted September 11, 2010 Members Posted September 11, 2010 Yes there are no lenght restrictions on crappie at Fellows and there are a LOT of small crappie in that lake. I have seen some very nice crappie however, 14-16" but the shorts far out number the decent ones. I usually do not crappie fish fellows lake much because i can't catch any good crappie without fighting through the small ones and the bluegill.
Amish Bill Posted September 13, 2010 Author Posted September 13, 2010 Thats what I thought, thanks for the confirmation Zac. One more question, I'm new to this lake and don't have a graph YET, but where would you suggest for cats just looking at the bank and guessing I thought around the fishing dock or maybe around the point on the other arm? Members Zac Seale Posted September 15, 2010 Members Posted September 15, 2010 I've seen and heard of some good ones being caught where the water goes under the bridge on the east end of the north arm on nightcrawlers and minnows. Also off the rocks about 1/2 between the bridge and the fishing dock.
Amish Bill Posted September 15, 2010 Author Posted September 15, 2010 Thanks again Zak, maybe I'll see you out there sometime. I drive a really red ford stepside dragging a 14 ft. grizzly boat. If you see me give a shout. "Life's too short to fish with a dead minner..."
Members Zac Seale Posted September 17, 2010 Members Posted September 17, 2010 Will do! I have a old 58' Crestliner 14' Vhull. Its a interesting rig...to say the least. lol. I'm trying to catch some muskies right now but not having much luck after hours and hours and hours of trolling and casting. Maybe someday, now that the water is cooling down. Cya out there!
