I was wondering how you guys are doing catching bass after this big water temp drop. I am going to try and get down there soon and wonder if you guys can give me any pointers like what they are biting? Is topwater doing any good? Any help would be great. Thanks!

Well from what I learned today is that you had to be in muddy water to catch fish. It seemed that most were in and around docks and they either hit it on the first pitch or they didnt hit it at all. You have to let them take it for a second before setting the hook or you would loose part of your trailer. Jigs seemed to be the ticket of the day, no fish on a spinnerbait but a a worm had a couple and a buzzbait had one.

I went out saturday morning and what you had work out for you was about the same with me. However, I didn't end up fishing any docks. I fished log jambs and points with a craw & football jig. Some really nice fish were tight and I mean TIGHT to structure. They are wanting a large profile bait to say the least. We fished from 7 am till 230 pm and overall we boated about 30 fish with only 1 going 15" and another going 14 7/8". The rest varied between 13 and 10. I also had luck with a trick worm rigged wacky.

My buddy threw a shad rap a few times and every single one he boated were foul hooked like they didn't want the bait but were more less wanting it away from them.

I think right now for any big quality fish one will have to make a long run up the lake for cooler water.

Overall, we had a great time and we were not bored. If you don't count the fact that most of the fish were short, the bass fishing is awesome right now. It can only get better as the temp drops.
