Wish I could remember the name of the place, but maybe someone here can help...

I was going through Mountain Grove on business and looking for a late lunch. I spotted Craig's Outdoors and knew I needed to stop and introduce myself and leave a catalog, but needed food first. Just down the outer road and at the motel there, I spotted a restaurant. So I ventured in. One of the specials was a "Firecracker Pasta Salad" so always wanting something different, I tried it...

A bed of lettuce/salad mix topped with a penne pasta salad topped with BBQ brisket chunks topped with BBQ sauce... all I can say is EXCELLENT!!!!!

So, if you're in the area and need a good meal, try this place out. And if they have it, try the Firecracker Pasta Salad...

That place has changed names, as has Mountain Grove has grown through the years. The restaurant used to be called Sam's and the wife and I had to bug out and stay at the motel after a trip to the North Fork many moons ago. I floated the upper NF for years for smallmouth and Sam's was the place we always stopped to eat when we came down. Ah... the memories. :nitex:

Forgot to tell you all, there's a great McDonalds there... Of course... Diggins has a McDonalds too. Plenty of parking for the horse and buggies.

Bingo Terry!

And the Amish friendly McDinks is in Seymour. Diggins doesn't even have that gas station anymore. I used to love stopping there as a kid on the way to SPringfield. It was the only place I'd ever gotten those 12oz glass bottles of Dr Pepper. T'was the neatest thing to me then.

I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted.
