Writing this from my phone so it'll be a lil short.

We had 2 limits of crappiebthis morning. Fish are locatedbon channel drops in 20 foot of water and brush piles 12 to 16 foot deep. Jigs and minnows working about the same. Only had 6 short fish so if u r catchin small ones I would say move to the next spot. The mdc brush piles qare producing some excellent fishing right now. We also had a school of shad that crappie were chasing. Thought they were whites but ended up being crappie. The fish are moving as the days shorten and water cools. If you are not catching then move to another area. Its best time to catch crappie and not freeze . I've got all mdc spots on a sd card. These are public spots so if u need help finding them or gettin them on your gps I can try to help. Thanks again mdc for an awesome job on the placement

Walleye are chasing crankbaits on points and worms on flats. Getting very active and biting good.

Sorry so short but this keyboard is tiny.

Bob, what part of the lake do you normally take your clients to? Not that I'm gonna barge in on ya, just wondering if I'm fishing the wrong areas. I've been fishing out of either Roark Bluff or CC lately. I just can't seem to find them, and when I do find schools on the graph, they don't seem to want to bite anything. Any suggestions?

I go out of ruark or mutton for the most part. The only secret is to locate brush. Skip trying to graph the fish for now just locate the brush or channel drops. The bluff at ruark is a good starting oint. There is an mdc brushpile half way down the bluff in a lil cut. Its close to the bank and in about 18 ft of water. Hit the ends of the bluff at the points. Try to keep your boat in about 20 ft.

Hope this helps

Thanks, I will hopefully get back up there this weekend and try it again. I'll definitely use your advice. If that don't work, maybe I'll just have to book a trip with you.

Heading up there tomorrow evening Bob. I'll take your advice and see what happens. I got a feeling you are right, so if I don't catch anything then we will all know it's just me! lol

My brother & I were out last weekend went to lower end towards the dam on Saturday & picked up several crapie close to orleans trail area. Then on Sunday went the other way up above Ruark Bluff area & found several that way. I think its like Bob says find the right brush & depth (wherever on the lake) & you'll catch some. We did hit a couple piles that didnt produce much so we moved on to the next. seemed like if they were there you found out quickly. We used only jigs mostly 1/16oz in the 20' deep rang give or take. We did pick up several shorts but seemed like there were definately more keepers than was hitting a couple weeks ago. Good Luck

I got a feeling I'll probably be mainly fishing with minnows for crappie, but do any of you guys have any suggestions as to jig colors? I usually have some success with all chartreuse or red/white/chartreuse. Just curious what works for others.

Keyboards are tiny but the technology is cool!

We're coming back to Stockton Oct.4-9. I just found out that I have to come back on the 6th but my wife and sons will be there. Would definitely like to meet up with you for that brush pile info. I've tried downloading that info to a card but for whatever reason it's not Humminbird compatible but I know that' s what you run.

Jig Color for Stockton: White, blue, gray, chart, pink and combo or variation of these and you'll be fine.
