Members Yellowfin Posted October 22, 2010 Author Members Posted October 22, 2010 It's not about being pissed and yes, AiA was contacted. I don't know who is trying to kid who here. They had a chance to make it right and flatly refused. None of these postings would exist had they fixed the problem. You can post all of the "new" rules you want, but the attachment that has been posted states the truth. Believe me, it is not a personal beef with AiA. There are plenty of others I have spoken with that are unhappy with the payout situation. They may not want to go public or maybe just want to sit back and not ruffle any feathers. But I can assure you, they won't be fishing the AiA circuit next year unless AiA corrects the problem.

Figure it out for cryin out loud and yes I will send you the picture of the 2010 rules that state word for word what I posted above. There are no "new" rules as you claim. They are the exact same. Get you panties out of a wad. Tired of reading about you complaining about this on here and other forums when you have zero argument.

Direct quote - AIA Championship Qualification Letter (Attached): Congratulations! Your team has qualified for the 2010 Anglers in Action Championship sponsored by Triton Boats and Pro’s Choice Marine. 1st place will win a 2010 Triton TR19 with a 200 Mercury Pro XS, 2nd place $20,000 and 3rd place $10,000. Pay back to the field will be 90% with one place for every 5 teams entered. Direct quote from AIA Internet Championship Flyer: Payout of 25 places listed. Above it stated: Top 3 payouts below are guaranteed regardless of the number of entries. The remaining places are based on 150 boats and will be increased or decreased accordingly. PAYBACK: Top 3 places guaranteed 90% payback and 1 place paid for every five entries after that. PRETTY SELF EXPLANATORY. Neither the letter nor the flyer mention only 25 boats will be paid. I have copies of both. If they say something different than the rules, shame on AIA. The flyer and letter were the official two forms of advertisement for the Championship. These were sent out and posted many months after the rules were published. These documents after the fact may constitute a legal rule change as they contradict the rules. I do not feel this situation was intentional, but it is very misleading and not right. They should pay the spots that did not get paid and make it right.AIALetter.pdf
DChance Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 The rules I quoted are from the 2010 Web page rules AND the Event Directory sent out BEFORE the season. You don't go into a season not knowing the rules and the rules do not change for a championship. That would be like saying the Super Bowl has a different set of rules than the regular season. A flyer is just that.....an announcement. A flyer's intent is to be informational, but most likely will not divulge every single one of the details. Again, these rules were known, were announced at the pre tournament meeting, posted on the web, and sent out via mail before the 2010 season even started. I always make sure I know what I am getting in to before I begin to fish whatever circuit I fish.

No mention of paying only 25 boats, anywhere. Very, very misleading and not a good business practice for all three documents not to match. I think that is pretty clear for all to see. I can honestly say if I was AIA, the problem would be very obvious and would I make it right for those 10 or twelve boats involved. Again, I do not think it was intentional but it needs to be taken care of with integrity.
Members fullmoon Posted October 25, 2010 Members Posted October 25, 2010 It would seem using the same logic that other rules would not apply either i.e. life jackets (not in the flier) kill switch (not in the flier) etc. etc.
Guest csfishinfool Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Anglers in Action still has the best championship payout of any buddy circut in the Ozarks. Fully loaded boat for first, 20,000 grand for second and 10,000 for third. Thats pretty sweet
