We had one male spotted that was pretty close to 10 pounds or better. I had a chance but I brushed him with the rig and he spooked. By far the biggest fish I have seen there.

That male 'Bow was huge! :blur: But not at big as that male 'bow you barely missed at Taney a few weeks back!

The biggest I've ever seen in the park. A real toad! I've gotta get my hands on that fish.

Hey Trizkid,

I saw the big boy again today. No luck.He wasn't feeding, only cruising around. This ones gonna be tough. That's why he's so big. Very hard to spot too! I did catch two lunkers though a 21 & 22 inchers.

PM sent.

I was down Friday with a friend. We had the stream to ourselves for most of the day with a few other sporadic fisherman as the day wore on. fishing was better than during the regular season. There are certainly more fish. I even got into a little dry fly action. Caught some nice fish, but no real "lunkers." My buddy landed a really nice Smallie that gave him all he could handle on a 4 weight. I'd say it was an easy 3 maybe 4. That was fun to watch. We saw two other Smallies that were absolute toads. We did see a very large rainbow, but he looked pretty beat up and a little out of it. We just let him be and moved on.

It was certainly worth the trip from STL and the stream was almost deserted. If only they would take out that sidewalk and clean out some of that moss.

There are a couple nice fish in there that are pretty beat up. The big 23" female shown above has a few cuts on her from eagles it looked like, but she was feeding (obviously), and swimming healthy. Dad said the next day he saw someone snag the same fish. There is probvably a few others being caught or snagged or both by now. The big male that we were really wanting was very big and very healthy. Big darn fish for MSP.

Yeah, she was fought for an extended period of time; the dude didn't have a net. She was kept out of the water for an extended period of time while his girl friend went to their car for a camera, THEN the photo's <_<<_< . When he released the big girl she went belly up. I walked over there and at least he stayed with her until she could swim. I kept an eye on her for awhile.

Folks. Don't fight them too long, carry a net, and your camera on ya. A quick as possible fight, get the camera ready while the fish is in the water, a quick pic, and right back in the water! Stay with them with the fish in your net until they are fully revived. Please.

Tippet I carry during C&R is 6X, 5X, 4X, 3X.

I am with you on the moss....they need to take alot of that out through out the whole stream. would make it alot more fun to fish not having to pull that junk off your fly every so many casts when nymphing.

Yeah it stinks after awhile too. No doubt the fish like to hide under it though.
