fishinSWMO Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Andrew and I went on a short float this afternoon. It was nice and warm, but just a tad bit windy to keep the canoe where we wanted. The water is getting low and very clear. We started a little late around noon or so, we had a couple spots in mind so we just paddled and hit those spots. Had to stop a shooting fest to make it down river without getting holes in us. Had fun ending the year floating the creek, hope next years fishing is great. Here are the 2 better fish of today. Happy New Year to everybody. Jeremy Dodson
Buzz Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Nice fish Jeremy. That brownie is a pig. I was wondering just today if they might be biting. Glad you got into some action. When I got home today at about 3:30 I heard some shooting coming from the direction of the creek. Mostly it was just BANG,BANG,BANG. Then I heard them rip off a long full auto burst. I seriously thought about making a call, but I wasn't sure exactly where it was coming from.If it had been any closer I probably would have. I'm glad you guys made it through alright. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
fishinSWMO Posted December 31, 2010 Author Posted December 31, 2010 Thanks Buzz, I would like to have the money the spent is shells yesterday. We could hear the shooting start just after we got on the water and it continued till we were done. They were about halfway thru our float on some cleared land they use for camping. It gets nerve wracking when you cant see them and here firing all around you. Once we saw them and seen they were shooting straight across the creek we stopped and yelled and waved them down. They were all using earplugs so it wasn't easy, but they stopped once they seen us. lots of hand gun shooting and then like you heard full auto stuff followed. Jeremy Dodson
Chief Grey Bear Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Sounds like some real class idiots. You have the right to bear arms. Not radomly shoot like frigging retard! I just got back from a short wade on Shoal and they are still aggressive. I got 2 brownies, 1 largemouth and a fistful of goggle eye. Get'em while you can!
