shockley32 Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Had the opportunity to head out and do some crappie fishing the last couple of days. Friday - The bite was fast and furious. We caught several fish in just a few hours. The fish were on the brushpiles along bluffs, just tap your jig into the top of the brush and bam! Fished 15-25 fow. Saturday - A harsh cold front came through making it cold while the bite slowed down. Started after lunch and struggled for the first two hours to find a pattern and active fish. Didn't expect to catch very many with frontal conditions but did expect to catch a few. Finally found the fish down in the brush, only had about a 2 hrs of daylight left when we finally found them. Three of us ended up with 25 nice crappie and a bonus walleye. They were not biting very fast or hard but we did manage to catch several. Had a great time with a couple of friends who I don't fish with near enough. The fish were caught on Crappie Slayer Jigs, color - blue disco, limerald disco, white w/ blue flake, ghost blue.
