Members Nathanael Posted January 24, 2011 Members Posted January 24, 2011 hey guys, me and a few college friends are planning on coming out to the current for a fly fishing trip before too long. I was looking at missouris out of state licenses costs but i had a question. Does anyone know if they offer like a 3 or 5 day licenses instead of the $43 annual. This would really help. thanks

Wayne SW/MO Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 You can buy daily permits, as mentioned, but you will also need a trout permit for another $7, one time. If you hit one of the parks after March 1st you won't need the permit. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
bikehikefish Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 You need the trout permit to possess trout on the Current. If you catch and release (a really good thing to do), all you need is the fishing license.
Kayser Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 I would go with the annual permit. It's good until Feb 29, 2012 if you buy it now, and would be handy to have if you decide to come back to MO. As far as the $7 trout permit (additional to fishing license), you only need it to either 1- fish catch and release in the parks in the winter (only winter), or 2- possess trout in waters outside of the parks year-round. So if you don't fish the parks in the winter, or keep trout outside of the parks, you won't need the trout permit. Hope this helps. Rob WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. troutfiend1985 Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Don't you also need a trout tag just to fish in the trophy area of Taney? “The greatest menace to freedom is an inert people” J. Brandeis
