Members beadhead Posted December 12, 2005 Members Posted December 12, 2005 Fished Montauk over the weekend and it turned out to be real nice. The weather chased away some people I am sure. We did well on Sat with leeches in dark olive and light green. Also a small pine squirrel nymph turned some later in the day. Many rising fish as well, and a crackleback would be good for 2 fish then they would get wise to that. Sat morning they had some agents doing spot checks for license and the required trout stamp for C&R. I was glad to see this. They stopped a few people that did not have the trout stamp. Sunday was great as there were even less people and many many fish. They really have the whole park jammed with fish. I caught two at the mill darn hole that were bruisers. Same as sat, Leech was the best fly going.
