Shad Balls

Any one seeing very many shad balls? If so how deep are the generally running? I would like to catch a bunch of gizzard shad for bait. It appears that there are no skip jacks in this area.

Didnt end up going to down there yesterday. went up to stockton instead to run the boat since it had been in for service...we seen tons of shad balls yesterday and whites chasing so i would say if there doin it up there end there would be the same down there..the water is probily a little warmer south also.
