drew03cmc Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 I am going to try to be at Coot Lake between 0800 and 0830 to see if I can't scare up some trout. If that doesn't work, I might go fish the spillway at Longview. Come on by and say hello. I will be the young guy in the blue Carhartt and tan Mizzou hat. Andy
troutfiend1985 Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Wish I could join you but school calls. . . Let me know how you do, especially if you go to the spillway. “The greatest menace to freedom is an inert people” J. Brandeis
drew03cmc Posted March 3, 2011 Author Posted March 3, 2011 I had the spinning rod out and caught one 13" rainbow on a black/gold 1/16 Panther Martin. I fished over an hour and had two bites, caught one. Andy
Members Sapp Posted March 6, 2011 Members Posted March 6, 2011 Drew My wife and I fished Coot this evening( Saturday the 5th) and caught a dozen or so. She caught a nice fat 14 incher. She used a spincast with a small float and a 1/100 pink micro jig. And a small split shot for cast a little farther. She was on fishing 5 feet of the bank in about 2 foot of water and caught most of the fish. Stubborn me. I used a fly rod and battled the wind until right about dark. I was using a white micro jig 1/100. When the sun was setting and the trout started feeding top water I switched to a size 18 Adams and caught one. There were sone folks sitting on the dam down the way using white sparkle gulp trout bait and pulling them in one after another. Good luck see ya out there. Sapp
